Maisie's a mummy!!! She gave birth to 3 boys and 3 girls this afternoon! She had a nice easy birth, and shes a brilliant mum. All 6 are suckling, toileting and moving about well. Time to book her and the puppies vet checkup tomorrow!

Dont think we'll have to wait too much longer... Her temperature is down, and has been lower by around 0.1 of a degree every time.

She lost some clear sticky liquid this afternoon (oh the joys of having a lap dog.... that was on your lap!), Shes very restless, and trying her hardest to rest between nesting. Shes cleaning herself a lot too.

Trying to stay as calm as possible for her sake!

Well Maisies temperature has spiked today, upto 38.2 degrees - Whelping kit is ready to go - after the spike usually comes the drop and then labour.... Current temp  36.3, dropped to normal - for now.. temp taking every few hours!

Week 8

Well Maisies been spending more and more time in her whelping box. Shes eating ok, though not as much as I'd like. Still playing and enjoying short walks, but shes got a lot less energy than before.

7 days to her due date! Temp taken 2 hours ago - 36.6 (normal temp for her) ... Lets just say she wasnt impressed!!!

Maisie loves her blanket so much! I had to add this one, it just shows what a lovely laid back girl she is!

Maisie has been spending a lot of time in the whelping box today and digging (though thats more to do with the vet bed - both girls love digging at the stuff). She refused her dinner too, which im not happy about. She feels a little thin to me, so upping her food yet again if I can get her to take it. She ate a little tripe though so at least shes eaten something.

11 days to go to her due date

Week 7 - Maisie is looking huge now! Not long to go now... Can definitely heart puppy heart beats when I listen for them with the stethoscope. I think I can hear two different beats, will have to wait to see if im right!!!

Maisie likes the whelping box. It looks a little small in this picture but it is a good size for her, its just the way shes laying! 2 and a half weeks to her due date!

Week 6 - doesnt seem real that Maisie is due in just a couple of weeks time!

Shes 1 days off 6 weeks but shes looking so much bigger! Maisie has been on and off her food the past week, and today she had some sickness - tried to eat more than she could. Think i need to split her meals down a bit more to accommodate her pups!

Maisie had her last Ringcraft session last night - From now on shes on maternity leave! She showed amazingly well (as always!) and was only beaten by the stunning Aussie who won the match :)

Her last trip out with friends this afternoon too - The girls are off to the beach (if she weather stays nice) or to a friends house if not to play with Hope and Dancer (a Lancashire Heeler and a Daxie) - after that its just the usual exercise routine. Whelping kit is all together ready to go (well in advance) - Not long to go now, just a few more weeks!

Week 5

Its going so fast! Maisie is looking so much bigger and much more interested in food than she has ever been! Shes much heavier than she was this time last week - I wish I had weighed her before mating, shes certainly gained quite a bit!

4 weeks and 1 day

Just had to update - Even our friends at Ringcraft can see Maisies expecting - shes quite tired the past couple of days too - Took these pics just now and had to post... Looking bigger and very content.

Week 4
Maisie has been off her food for a couple of days but she enjoyed laying in the garden with her dinner eating today. Shes been a little more clingy than usual and certainly looking a little bigger. Shes also been a little less playful than normal and has less patience than normal with other dogs wanting to play with her.

Even family and friends have commented on how shes starting to lose that tuck up. 

Week 3

Maisie is her usual bouncy self and shes more interested in her food than normal. Her nipples are a little larger and pinker too, and she looks a little chunky. She's been more clingy than normal the past couple of days too with everyone. Still happy to show off at Ringcraft though!!

Week 2

Maisie is a little quieter than normal the past few days. Otherwise no noticeable difference. New grooming table too. Still as playful and happy as usual.

Week 1 (7 days)

No real noticeable change this week. Shes very well in herself, very playful and happy.
